We are bringing some of the world’s most talented ballet dancers and the conductor Alexander Walker to Arizona for our Prescott community to witness, it is not to be missed.” Ken Ludden, MFAB Artistic Director.
Sarah Lane was the dancing double for Natalie Portman in Fox Searchlight Pictures’ feature film Black Swan and has been a principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre since 2017. Sarah will be dancing in the Sleeping Beauty suite at the Fonteyn Celebration Week Gala in Prescott, Arizona on May 13.
Alexander Walker: “It will be a real pleasure to be involved in a week celebrating the miraculous art of Margot Fonteyn. In addition to sharing with her a background in her company, the Covent Royal Ballet, I have throughout my career had the privilege of sharing my passion for British music with musicians all over the world. This has been particularly true for the music of Elgar, to which Margot danced so beautifully in Ashton’s choreography of Chanson d’amour. I have been able to share my love of Elgar’s music with musicians all over the globe, many of whom were previously unfamiliar with it, and the tenderness and passion never fail to connect. I am very excited about sharing this wonderful music with the people of Arizona.”
