Rootshell Security has announced a new Remediator dashboard for its vendor-neutral vulnerability management solution, Prism Platform.

Prism platform helps businesses merge their penetration testing results in a centralized location. The company claims that the platform allows clients to “consolidate, assess, prioritize, remediate, reassess, and analyze” through this single management tool.

All the relevant data is visible to users through the vulnerability management dashboard, the company explains. It organizes this data while making it insightful and actionable.

The Remediator dashboard is part of its vulnerability management dashboard, and has been enhanced to provide more information.

The vulnerability management dashboard, according to the company, is an essential tool for managing the business’ cyber-risks, says the company. It is where a business can view its vulnerability data, metrics, and insights.

Whilst other insights are also important and should be available on the dashboard, the remediation information is considered especially important by the company.

Jon Bellard, Prism’s Product Manager, said, “Prism’s Remediator Dashboard is one of our most important features yet. Users no longer have to wait for their next testing results to assess remediation progress – they can ask questions of their vulnerability data as and when they please. This makes it even easier than before to keep on top of and report on remediation.”

The new dashboard, according to the company, offers more information along with key insights. The users can see summaries of their team’s progress for given periods of time, ranging from seven days to 12 months.

It also tracks more metrics than before, claims the company. The list now includes open issues; closed exploitable issues; remediated issues; dynamically remediated issues; issues that have been set to ‘accepted risk’; false positives; issue comments; closed vulnerability age; closed Jira issues; closed ServiceNow issues; and personnel performance.

Remediation tracking can be challenging for businesses, especially if it is done on static spreadsheets, explains Rootshell Security.

In that situation, information is only updated when someone manually does it. The information is not complete and updated continuously. Finally, it is also an additional task to analyze this information to mine insights from it, the company elaborates.

The new Remediator dashboard makes the process dynamic, insightful, and continuous, Rootshell Security asserts. All the information on it is in real-time and updated automatically.

Users also get more context of their team’s remediation activity, claims the company. The dashboard does not just provide activity data but also analyzes it to offer insights that can be used to draft new strategies. That can then be used to streamline processes and the remediation workflow.

The dashboard also facilitates quicker and more efficient reporting. It can help provide context to the business’s remediation efforts, which can then be used to prioritize the assessment data. That, in turn, makes it easier to demonstrate how successful the remediation was to the organization.

As a result, the company says, the new remediation dashboard will help IT security leaders in evaluating where they need to improve processes.
